Portrait Photography by Glen Forbister

I first found an interest Photography a good few years ago. Back then I used my Father's Zenith E, a chunky Russian item that even then was somewhat outdated. Despite that I still got some good images out of the camera, on film of course. What it did manage to do was teach me the rudimentary skills that have provided me with the foundations for my work to date. After all, the basic principles remain exactly the same now as then, albeit technology has transformed the equipment available to capture and process images digitally.

From there to more recently, Professional Tuition (thanks Gary!) has helped me understand the technical aspects of Photography that have, and will continue to, make the major differences that are required to help me reach the standards I wish to achieve.

To present day, I love the opportunities that modern day investment into Art & Design has brought us with such structures as The Angel of The North, Newcastle Quayside, Millennium Bridges and the like. Then to the surroundings that those structures span & sit amongst, the rivers and hillsides, leading through to the coastline that we are so lucky to have on our doorstep. Yes, the area we live in is industrialised, but it also offers areas of great natural beauty within easy reach of us all.

So to the people themselves, or rather ourselves. I love to capture the thoughts and expressions that the opportunities of Portrait Photography bring. Just click the shutter a fraction of a second either side of when most expected, and the results can be exceptional. That’s where the best images can be. I wish to work more in this area, which is where you can really influence the end result.

Whether it could be studio images you desire, or indeed a more urban style of portraiture, or even my landscape work, please feel free to provide your influence, your choices. If you do have specifics your wish to be captured, a special commission you have always wanted, call to discuss.

Hope you enjoy my work so far. I will continue to update, keep viewing…
